PRO 3 TRACE

Contains three essential trace minerals: Copper, Zinc and Selenium in a high quality, highly absorbed form of Copper, Zinc and Selenium.

These 3 essential trace minerals are often low in UK forage. Low sugar and starch at 0.86% (0.04g per scoop).

Copper is an essential trace mineral often lacking in a horse’s diet and plays an important role in repair, maintenance and development of hooves, joints, bones, tendons ligaments and cartilage. Copper also supports a healthy metabolic function.
Copper is also required for the production of the pigment melanin which gives hair its colour and supports a healthy coat and helps prevent coat, mane and tail bleaching.
Copper is necessary for the mobilisation of stored iron in the horses body. Copper absorption is complex as it interacts with several other trace elements, which can affect copper absorption in the equine diet. Copper is often low in UK forage.

Zinc is an anti oxidant mineral that plays an important role in the health of the immune system. As well as healthy skin and hooves it is involved in energy metabolism and bone and joint health.
Zinc also plays a role in the production of the pigment melanin (in bay and black Horses) which gives hair its colour and supports a healthy coat and helps prevent coat, mane and tail bleaching.
Zinc is often low in UK forage.

Selenium is an important trace mineral that is necessary for the development of a healthy immune system.  Selenium supports healthy muscle performance and recovery in hard working horses.
Selenium also aids in reproductive health and helps support healthy metabolic function.
Selenium is often low in UK forage.

Arrived quickly. Great product, my horses seem to do better on this than other more complicted supplements. I only need to add calcium as our forage is very low in this mineral.

I have used this product for over two years now, initially it was hard for my horses to accept, so I fed gradually more and more starting from a very small amount.
I started using it having just acquired an over weight 9yr old haflinger mare with very Shelly feet, she had very flared hoofs and a thick laminar wedge, needless to say, she was very tender and could hardly walk on gravel and tarmac.
I can’t say whether it was due to this product or that she has been living on mountain grass and had more exercise, as many changes happened simultaneously, But today she has beautiful hard hooves and will trot very eagerly on the road, I remember being able to see the change in the flare of the each hoof as it grew out.
This is by far the most coast effective way of supplementing these trace elements, if you look at the likes of happy hoof it contains nowhere near the same quantity .
I fed the three on half the recommended dose for a horse as they are around 15hh
For the yearly cost this is a great insurance policy and would recommend along with Pete Ramey’s Book to anyone as a good start to understanding hoof care

      Hi Victoria
I cannot find any correspondence from you regarding difficulty feeding, so it is difficult to advise why you are having problems with palatability.
Horses are suspicious of all new smells and flavors so in order to avoid potential disappointment and refusal you need to introduce all new supplements and feeds gradually.
Unfortunately, we do find that quite often people just introduce the whole amount all at once, particularly with the supplements with a lower feed rate such as the Pro 3 trace, but this is a concentrated supplement so the same gradual introduction still applies.
It is also important to feed in a suitable base feed. This is a powdered supplement so it needs to be fed in a wet base feed such as soaked hay cobs, soaked grass nuts, a soaked mash, etc.
