A Source of Fat-soluble vitamins for horses.

These fat-soluble vitamins are important for Performance horses and those with heavy workloads, growing horses, pregnant mares, seniors, & horses that do not have access to green pasture and are fed old hay.

Vitamin A is important for proper function of the eyes and muscles, and helps keep mucous membranes healthy – the linings of the respiratory, digestion and reproductive tracts. Grass has abundant vitamin A but as hay ages, levels of vitamin A  drop. Most hay will fail to meet requirements by the time it is 12 months old

Vitamin D assists with the absorption of calcium, and helps regulate the secretion of phosphorus. Sufficient vitamin D must be present for calcium and phosphorus to be absorbed. Adequate vitamin D intake is considered important for growing horses to support normal bone development. Although vitamin D is abundant in fresh forages and sun-cured hay, levels of vitamin D decrease with prolonged storage.

Some modern horsemanship practices may predispose the horse to suboptimal intakes of vitamin D; restricting the amount of turnout to less than two hours a day prevents a horse’s body from having time to convert sufficient vitamin D in the skin.  Feeding hays that have been dried with little exposure to sunlight will not contain much vitamin D, nor does old hay.

NATURAL Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that supports a healthy immune system and helps neutralise free radicals, the damaging by-products of normal cellular activity. Vitamin E content in hay is very low and drops quickly.

Vitamin K is involved in the activation of blood clotting mechanisms,  maintaining vascular health, bone density and bone formation. Horses generally get all the vitamin K they need from their diets, however supplementing this nutrient promotes healthy blood and bones. Owners of performance horses might find these properties beneficial when it comes time to compete.

This premix can be a useful add on supplement during the winter months or if your horse does not have access to grass and is fed hay over 6 months old.

Usage Level: 1 x level 10ml scoops supplies approximately 5g of product.
Suggested intake: Performance – 2 scoops per day. Maintenance – 1 scoop per day.
Do not exceed 2 scoops per day & adjust intakes if other vitamin element sources are used.

How long will a 300g pack last? Fed at the rate of one scoop per day will last 2 months. Fed at the rate of 2 scoops per day will last one month.
